The commonly used metal spinning material
Many metal materials are used in metal spinning ,such as aluminum ,steel ,copper ,titanium ,stainless steel and so on ,we choose metal sheet and tube as the Spinning blank material,sheet can be divided into cold rolled and hot rolled, the hardness of hot rolled sheet is lower than cold rolled ,but it is easier to craze because the internal porosity and shrinkage. we have better to know the metal spinning property of different materials, the following will introduce the material properties and application in spinning forming .
Comparing the spinning material in the picture ,we find that AL ,copper and steel is easier to form than titanium and stainless steel ,because ductility is important property for metal spinning ,all the material work hardening is abvious,metal spinning make the material intensity strong ,material rebound in spinning impact on the precision , the hardness is lower ,the surface of product is better in spin .now i will introduce some metal propertys for metal spinning .
①Hardness : aluminum ( except alloy aluminum ) < red copper < brass < titanium < steel < stainless steel
It is hard to spin with the hardness increasing ,the hardness of spinning product is harder than original sheet . and the hardness impact the surface of spinning product .the harder hardness make the spinning roller and mold wear quickly.
②Ductility : aluminum ( except alloy aluminum ) > red copper > brass >steel > stainless steel >titanium
The ductility is worse ,the stretch rate is litter ,It is easier to crack in metal spinning process .you can see the fatigue grain in stainless steel and titanium because the ductility is bad .
③Tensile strength : aluminum ( except alloy aluminum ) < red copper < brass <steel < stainless steel < titanium
If the tensile strength is big ,it will need more spinning force to make product form .so it need a powerful spinning machine to process ,and the machine wear quickly .
④Internal stress : aluminum ( except alloy aluminum ) < red copper < brass <steel < stainless steel < titanium
Internal stress will make the material rebound that that will impact the precision ,so the precision of stainless steel and titanium spinning is bad .
How to choose the material of spinning mold
45 # steel ,cast steel and CR12 steel are used for spinning mould material.
①If the spinning product need to make sure the precision and the blank material is stainless steel or titanium ,you should choose the CR12 steel as the mould material ,because 45# is low hardness and wear resistance is bad , the size will be smaller when the mold have used for a period of time .
②If you want good spinning surface ,you should choose the CR12 steel as the mould ,because cr12 steel can be polished into a mirror ,and the inner surface of spinning product is close to surface of mold .
③If the blank material of spinning product is aluminum and copper ,you can choose the 45# steel as the mold material ,because the price of making
Cr12 is more expensive than 45# steel .
④If the size of spinning product is too big ,you should choose the cast steel to make the mold ,because the cast steel can save the cost of material .
How to choose the material of spinning roller
High-speed steel and CR12 steel are used for spinning roller material.
If it spins aluminum and copper ,you can use the cr12 steel .
If it spins stainless steel ,steel ,titanium ,using the cr12 as the roller material easy to abrasion and affect the surface quality of spinning products .high -speed steel has high hardness to reduce effect of erosion .
